Why This Role Matters
As a Coordinator on our Crew Scheduling and Support team, you’ll play a critical role in supporting our frontline crew—pilots and flight attendants—by arranging their hotel and ground transportation accommodations. Your job ensures that our crews have a safe, comfortable place to rest so they can continue to deliver world-class service to our passengers. This role is essential to the operational efficiency of American Airlines, particularly during off-schedule operations and charter flights.
What You’ll Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating hotel and ground transportation logistics for crew members involved in variable-manning flights, charters, check airmen assignments, and those impacted by irregular operations.
- Partnering with hotel and limo vendors to ensure timely and comfortable accommodations.
- Making sure all arrangements comply with union agreements and internal corporate travel policies.
- Working directly with pilots, flight attendants, hotel partners, transportation services, and internal IOC teams to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Assisting with data compilation and analysis to support monthly reports and operational improvements.
- Participating in investigations of crew debriefs related to accommodations or transportation, and helping identify root causes and solutions.
- Supporting departmental projects that improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service quality.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–2 years of experience in the aviation industry or in a call center environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, aviation management, or a related field
- Background in project management
- Familiarity with interpreting union contracts and travel policies
- Prior experience in a large-scale operational environment, especially within an airline
- Strong problem-solving and strategic-thinking skills
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication abilities
- Comfort working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and Google Workspace
- Adaptability to new systems, processes, and technologies
