Key Responsibilities

Technical Maintenance Duties

  • Perform inspections, repairs, installations, overhauls, and fabrications on aircraft and components.
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance in compliance with all FAA standards.
  • Certify that work performed meets required maintenance standards and documentation.
  • Operate and manage ground start and ground power units.
  • Assist in aircraft towing, pushback, and guideman duties.

Working Conditions

  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions (hot, cold, rainy, snowy, windy).
  • Use personal protective equipment as needed for safety.
  • Work in confined spaces and environments that may be dusty or dirty.
  • Maintain general safety awareness in areas with moving equipment and aircraft.

General Maintenance and Reporting Duties

  • Sign off on mechanical flight and airworthiness releases.
  • Refer to technical manuals, maintenance logs, and part catalogs.
  • Keep accurate maintenance reports and service records.
  • Conduct Foreign Object Debris (FOD) inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

American Airlines Work Culture

  • Follow safety protocols and company policies.
  • Work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and during weather delays.
  • Collaborate with crew members, supervisors, and support teams.
  • Use digital tools and systems to manage tasks and documentation.
  • Wear the required uniform and display professional conduct.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) License is required
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must pass FAA background check for SIDA badge access
  • Must comply with DOT drug and alcohol testing regulations

Starting Pay Rate: $34.56 per hour or applicable minimum wage, whichever is higher.
