About the Role
Aer Lingus is currently seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Manager to lead a high-performing cloud infrastructure team. This role combines technical leadership, strategic direction, and delivery management to support and advance the airline’s evolving cloud infrastructure strategy.
Reporting directly to the Head of Cloud Infrastructure and Release Management, you will play a critical role in ensuring our AWS-based cloud platforms and related technologies run smoothly within the broader Aer Lingus business environment.
As a Cloud Infrastructure Manager at Aer Lingus, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading a high-functioning, self-sufficient infrastructure team that complements existing production support operations.
- Coordinating across PMO, change management, QA, DBA, and development teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Producing and owning regular performance and status reports for management.
- Managing, prioritizing, and resolving issues and critical outages efficiently.
- Handling vendor relationships, especially offshore teams, and ensuring SLA compliance.
- Allocating resources effectively to address incidents and maintain system uptime.
- Driving innovation by keeping up with cloud technology trends relevant to Aer Lingus.
- Improving internal processes to enhance productivity and inter-departmental collaboration.
- Facilitating continuous team development and succession planning.
- Ensuring 24/7 operational support structure to maintain service stability.
- Aligning technical solutions with Aer Lingus business goals and digital transformation initiatives.
- Promoting a culture of ongoing improvement and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Candidate Requirements
Education & Experience:
- A degree in IT or a related field.
- 5–7 years of leadership experience in cloud infrastructure or IT project delivery.
- Strong project governance background with a consistent delivery record.
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on knowledge of AWS and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Proficiency in networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS/QIP).
- Experience managing both local and offshore technical teams.
- Ability to manage complex infrastructure in global business environments.
Personal & Professional Attributes:
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Deep understanding of airline industry dynamics is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence outcomes.
- Willingness and ability to pass strict airport security vetting (5-year background check).
- Hold a valid, unrestricted passport and be eligible to work in the EU.
