Job Responsibilities
As the Senior Manager of International Income Tax, your responsibilities will include:

- Coordinating with internal accounting teams and external advisors to meet all statutory tax obligations.
- Leading tax transformation and automation projects involving teams such as International Accounting and Income Tax.
- Conducting complex tax research to identify cost-saving opportunities and implementing strategies that align with corporate goals.
- Supporting the preparation of tax provisions for inclusion in the company’s publicly-released financial statements.
- Leading the filing process for foreign statutory income tax returns.
This role requires the ability to manage both day-to-day tax functions and strategic initiatives, all while maintaining alignment with American Airlines’ broader financial goals.

Qualifications You’ll Need
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Master’s in Taxation
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- 6 to 8 years of progressive tax experience, with at least 5 years in international income tax
- Strong research skills with a proven track record of identifying tax optimization strategies
Preferred Experience:
- Mix of public accounting and in-house corporate tax experience
- Hands-on experience with SAP and Thomson Reuters OneSource
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while interacting with tax professionals across departments
Technical Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of tax automation tools like Alteryx
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with tax research software such as CheckPoint and BNA
